The Forum

Day 1 l Days 2 & 3 l Speakers

The Darwin CBD Urban Planning Forum builds on the work undertaken by the NT Government and Council to understand the issues facing the CBD and identify future directions. The forum delivers an action plan for Darwin that contains a set of specific actions around the design of buildings, streetscape and open spaces to help shape the future of Darwin’s CBD.

Day One of the forum (Tuesday 24 April)

The project team worked with a range of stakeholders including representatives of the property industry, local planners and architects and community groups to develop a series of actions to improve the design and function of buildings, streetscapes and open spaces within the CBD.

The forum is a combination of events on different days.

The following components of the forum were open to the public to attend:

Day One: Report Back and Plenary Session

The general public had the opportunity to participate in the report back and plenary session to be held on the afternoon of Day 1 of the forum:

Speakers at the forum

The forum played host to a number of key speakers who are experts in their fields from the NT and across Australia. Speakers bought to the forum diverse perspectives on the issues facing Darwin CBD, as well as knowledge on from the experiences of other cities that could help to improve the functioning and design of Darwin’s centre.
